Strengthening Medicare and

the Northside Urgent Care Clinic

Urgent Care Clinics

You shouldn’t have to put off going to a doctor because you can’t get in to see a GP.

We’ve opened Urgent Care Clinics across Australia, for non life-threatening urgent care. They’re open extend hours and fully bulk billed.

This includes the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic right here on the Northside! This Clinic is open 7 days a week -  8.00 am to 8.00 pm. Located at Family Doctors Kedron, 11 Brookfield Road, Kedron.

At the last election we promised to deliver 50 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics to deliver bulk-billed, walk in urgent care when and where Australians needed it. We have now delivered 84 across the country, and will open 87 before the end of the year. Our 87 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics mean 70 per cent of Australians now live no more than a 20-minute drive from fully bulk billed urgent care, available seven days a week.

Our Medicare Urgent Care Clinics have had over 1 million visits across the country.

Nearly a third of visits are by children under 15, meaning families are utilising Medicare Urgent Care Clinics to get care for their kids with coughs, viruses, fevers, fractures and rashes without needing to wait in busy EDs.

All you need is your Medicare card.

Cheaper medicines

We’ve made the biggest reduction to PBS medicine prices since the scheme was introduced, saving Australians $250 million in 2023 alone. We’re also cutting the cost of more than 300 common medicines by allowing doctors to prescribe 60 day prescriptions, saving you money and time.

On September 30th 2024, our Cheaper Medicines policy had already saved Lilley residents $6,975,300 on 693,530 cheaper scripts and 88,299 60 day scripts.

Because cheaper medicines aren’t just good for your hip pocket, but they’re also good for your health.

Tripling incentives for your GP to bulk bill

We’ve made the largest investment into bulk billing in the history of Medicare.

We tripled incentives for GPs to bulk bill kids, pensioners, and concession card holders, delivering direct benefits to 11 million patients.

In Lilley, we have had 16,525 extra bulk billed appointments.

We said we’d Strengthen Medicare and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
